Options. Event photography typically falls into one of two categories: Action Photography or Candids & Portraits.

  • Action Photography is typically shot at sports and dance events requiring constant coverage of live action in difficult situations. Thousands of photos may be shot for participants to select from. Photos can either be viewed on-site via a network of computers for quick and easy ordering or later via the internet. One such example I covered was the 2003 UCWDC World Country/Western Dance Championships in Nashville, TN. Due to the time and complexity of covering events like this, I have scaled back my schedule and increased upfront costs to cover the additional manpower needed to fully provide for large events like this.

  • Candids and Portraits are typically shot at receptions, corporate parties and other events. These can involve the set up of studio lighting for doing on-location portraits of all guests as well as candids and table shots during the event. Event options may include candids and/or portraits, printing photos on-site for all guests, posting on-line for general viewing and ordering or providing all high resolution digital images on CD/DVD for your group or company use. Additional extras may involve creating a custom template with your event name, date and logo to be applied to all images, or creating a fake Magazine Cover to create a memorable 8x10 using each guest's photo. One such large example I covered was the week long 2002 Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC.
